In an effort to improve locates and prevent utility damage we have over the course of ten years invested in technology. Accuracy of utility assets require a sound process workflow and commitment. While we all struggle with this we are always exploring ways to enhance our accuracy. With our focus on technology to enhance our locates we have purchased tablets, GPS units, created web pages, configured ESRI apps, deployed Collector, and hyperlink CCTV for all our wastewater mains.

One Call Ticket Processing and Management – from Cradle to Grave – Panel Discussion
A panel discussion on best practices and process improvement ideas with representatives from One Call centers from gas, electric, communications, water/sewer, and the 811 center. Potential topics to be considered are; Criteria used for sending tickets directly to the field; criteria used to identify a critical ticket; staffing; info provided back to the excavator; criteria used to conflict a ticket; positive response; documentation required; checklists; ideas for efficiencies and ideas for improved safety.
Severe Weather Impact on Damage Prevention
Hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes have all impacted the CenterPoint Energy operating area. The aftermath of these events requires emergency excavation as part of the restoration process. Homeowners may also become more active as they dig new fence posts for fallen fences and other emergency excavation projects. This presentation focuses on how to prevent further damage to underground utility infrastructure after severe weather strikes including the effective use of media to prevent damages.
Social Media Campaigns Impact on Your Company
This session is two mini sessions. First, this session will inform attendees about how to utilize social media platforms to their company’s advantage.
